The Department of Education, Sport and Culture is advertising for a new head as its current chief officer prepares to retire.
Graham Kinrade will step down in April after more than five years in the role.
Now, the recruitment process to find his replacement has begun, with the role advertised on the government's job site.
The position carries a salary of between £137,000 and £147,000 a year.
