Prisoners can be stopped from re-offending if they are given jobs in prison.
That’s the view of the Department of Home Affairs which is asking for help from charities and businesses.It wants new work projects to offer to inmates at Jurby.
The department says providing constructive activity helps maintain discipline and is a form of rehabilitation.
