An investigation into the Island’s sex education curriculum found that a guest speaker was not dressed in drag, did not give a sex education talk and didn’t ask a pupil to leave the room.
That’s according to government, who says the Department of Education has received the conclusions of the first part of the investigation.
It examined elements of a drop down day for Year 7 pupils at QEII, following claims someone in drag had given a sex education talk and asked a pupil to leave the room when discussing gender identities.
Within the conversation the guest speaker was asked how many genders there were, and they replied that there ‘could be as many as 72.’
It was found that teachers managed the behaviour of the class and asked a pupil to step outside of the classroom.
The second part of the investigation will now look at concerns by parents about the content and delivery of the relationships and sex education curriculum at the same school.
