Repairs to Ramsey War Memorial have yet to take place, after a ‘substantial crack’ was found earlier this month.
The town’s commissioners received a report on the issue at a meeting held earlier this week (17 April).
A cordon is currently in place around the cross, after an architect deemed the crack had likely compromised the memorial’s structural integrity.
Repairs were scheduled to begin this week, but officers told the board they were waiting for a conservation expert from Manx National Heritage to assess the structure.
It’s hoped work will begin on the memorial after this bank holiday weekend (19-22 April).
