The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture says it'll do its best to protect lizards as it builds a new car park near their habitat.
The department has applied for planning permission to create the car park opposite Sartfell Plantation on West Baldwin Road.
But the area is known for the common lizard, which is a protected species under Manx law.
DEFA says it'll put measures in place to make sure they still have somewhere to live and aren't disturbed by the work.
