The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture says it wants to let up to 10 campervans stay in the Wildlife Park's car park.
The department has lodged a planning application for permission to have camping at the Curraghs Wildlife Park Car Park in Sulby.
In its application, it says it wouldn't provide electric hookups, water or other facilities for the vans.
DEFA has also lodged a similar application for up to two campervans at Axnfell Plantation Car Park in Laxey.
