Government experts say deepfake scams impersonating Isle of Man personalities cost Island residents £1.2 million last year.
The Cyber Security Centre for the Isle of Man says deepfake videos pretending to be about people such as Chief Minister Alf Cannan and TT racer Conor Cummins have been doing the rounds on social media.
It says the adverts look like legitimate news interviews but are AI-generated fakes.
And it adds while it's working with platforms to remove the adverts, it wants to make sure people stay away from them.
