Decision on schools to be made by 5.30pm, say gov't

A decision on if schools will be shut tomorrow will be made by 5.30pm today.

That's the latest update from government, which says it's so the 'impact of the incoming weather can be assessed through the afternoon.'

Previously, officials had said a decision would be made my midday.

Schools and the Island's college are closed today as the Island braces itself for 'heavy and persistent snow.'
