Tynwald approval is being sought to provide more money for pre-school credits.
Currently carers are entitled to between £800 and £1,500 - the money is given out on a means tested basis.
The Department of Education and Children wants to increase the standard amount to £1,700 a year and for those receiving government support increase it to £2,150.
The last credit increase was in 2014 - it's hoped if this is approved it will be in place for the start of the new academic year.
Chrissy Callaghan is the early years school improvement advisor - she says uptake in pre-school credits is up to 97 per cent:
Six new buses to replace 14 year old ones
Record number of seal pups recorded
Proposed laws could mean free period products
Unemployment fell slightly last month
GP waiting times to be raised in House of Keys tomorrow
Waves higher than predicted on crossing which damaged cars
Spitfire flights to be launched from Ronaldsway
Does Crogga owe the government money?
