Summerland and Airport Loss Up For Discussion in House of Keys On Tuesday
With the dust settling on the Reciprocal Health Agreement this weeks sitting of The House of Keys will see a raft a different issues up for debate.
Opening the proceedings will be Onchan MHK Peter Karran who will be asking questions to Tourism and Leisure Minister Martyn Quayle about the current progress being made at the Summerland site.
He’ll ask what action his department are currently taking to ensure that the site is ready for use and development, and what timescale does he envisage having the work done for.
Mr Karran will also be asking the Chairman of the Office of Fair Trading if with the Airport due to make a loss of £5 million this year, which amounts to a £6 subsidy for each single passenger journey, does this constitute unfair competition to the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company.
The election to determine who the new deputy speaker will also take place.
