Death of 71 year old racer in today's 500CC Classic race

Veteran rider Adam Easton died following an incident near to Cronk y Voddy

The Manx Motorcycle Club have announced the death of a veteran racer in today's Manx Grand Prix racing.

Scottish 71 year old Adam Easton died following an incident near to Cronk y Voddy earlier today in the 500CC Classic Grand Prix event.

He  had been racing in the MGP since 1983, at the time of his accident he was running in 16th place.

In total he competed in 34 Manx Grand Prix Races and also finished 22nd in the Historic TT in 1984, the only year he missed the Manx Grand Prix.

He's been described as one of the great characters of the event, and one that will be sorely missed.
