Injecting Plant Food Can lead to Serious Complications
Since Mephedrone became a recognised illegal substance drugs advisory service DASH have reported a reduction in people coming forward with problems associated with the substance.
However what they have seen is a worrying rise in cases of people injecting the now outlawed drug.
The drug more commonly known as plant food produces similar effects to other substances like amphetamines and cocaine.
When injecting the substance you run the risk of abscesses, infections and deadly heart infection.
Shelley Stanley from DASH said if you're at the point where you're injecting you have a serious problem and need to seek help.
