The Isle of Man Cycling Association is calling on the government to introduce 20mph speed limits in towns and villages.
The organisation has written an open letter to MHK's asking for restriction to be brought in along with a 30mph limit on narrow rural roads.
In the letter, the association says: "Dealing with speed is not the ‘silver bullet’ cure to all the problems faced on our roads. However, what you are urged to consider is the impact motor vehicle speed has in putting people off choosing sustainable and healthy travel alternatives."
The group also asks that whilst these roads can be accessed by vehicles, it's clearly indicated to everyone that the highways are also used by many vulnerable road users.
