Police Officer Darren Bradford said it’s still relatively new territory in policing terms, with social networking only really coming into focus in 2007.
He urges people to consider what they’re typing; baring in mind that it could remain in the public domain indefinitely.
There have been a number of seminars held educating parents about cyber bullying and how to spot the tell tale signs, but Darren tells us it’s an issue that affects people all across the age range.
He says anyone who feels they may be the victim of online bullying should not tolerate it, aswell as contacting the police there are a number of charities online that will advise the best way to tackle the problem.
