The closure of Cummal Mooar in Ramsey has been put on hold, following further discussions between the Department of Health and Social Care and Manx Care.
The decision has been reached following conversations with Treasury regarding funding for a replacement facility.
Staff and residents and their families have been consulted on the reasons behind the pause, and to give them the opportunity to have their voices heard.
It's not yet known how long the pause will, and the department have acknowledged it's been a very anxious time for residents, their families and colleagues.
