Up to £1.5 million is expected to be spent on the independent review into the government's handling of Covid-19.
The Chief Minister says this cost will be funded from reserves.
The Chair of the inquiry, Kate Brunner, has undertaken her initial assessment, which includes estimating budgets.
The report and recommendations are hoped to be completed by December 2023.
