Care home residents will start receiving Covid-19 vaccines from tomorrow.
A team of vaccinators will be heading to care homes across the Island over the next few weeks, starting at Southlands in Port Erin on Monday (January 18).
Care home residents are also set to be the first to receive the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine - at the same time the rollout to healthcare staff and the over 80s will continue at the Newlands Ward at Noble’s Hospital.
Health and Social Care Minister, David Ashford MHK, says now preparations for the Oxford jab are complete officials can accelerate the vaccination programme.
Meanwhile, nursing home residents are the next in line afterwards to be vaccinated and health professionals will be visiting those locations from Monday, January 25.
