Officials at Ramsey Courthouse have explained their decision not to include solar panels in proposals for the building.
Those at the venue revealed in their newsletter this month plans for the facility will no longer include the technology, which they say has sparked concerned comments from residents.
Architectural consultant and trustee, Chris Penketh, says installing panels there could have a negative effect on the appearance on the registered building and the outlay needed to house them wouldn't be cost effective.
Mr Penketh added there's 'no right or wrong answer' on the matter, but agrees with the planning department's stance that the structure's status and placement in a conservation area 'is of utmost importance'.
