Bankruptcy proceedings against an Island businessman will go ahead - after a court dismissed an attempt to strike out the claim.
Lloyds Bank International applied for a bankruptcy order against Samuel George Alder over a £2.6 million debt.
Mr Alder, an accountant, was guarantor for the money which the bank lent to development company Slegaby Estates in 2008.
He claimed the reason behind the proceedings were false, the bank hadn't tried to realise its security when it filed its claim and there'd been procedural defects in the case.
High Bailiff John Needham heard Mr Alder hadn't repaid any of the money despite a court ordering him to repay the money within 28 days in September 2013.
He said the court order had been issued properly and said he didn't believe the bank had been acting in bad faith.
And he added Mr Alder's ill-health didn't magnify any potential prejudice he'd suffered throughout the proceedings.
He dismissed Mr Alder's attempt to have the bankruptcy case struck out.
