A Douglas councillor is suggesting a way to provide bigger outdoor cafe areas in the capital once they re-open.
After speaking with businesses, Derby Ward representative, Andrew Bentley, suggested as an example reducing the carriageway on Victoria Street to allow cafes to have more tables available near the kerbs.
Mr Bentley adds traffic would need to slow down and loading bays and blue badge spaces may need to be moved, but 'now is a time to be creative and give these small businesses a chance'.
It comes after Chief Minister, Howard Quayle MHK, announced last week that cafes would be able to start preparing outdoor areas from Monday, June 1.
