Douglas Council says it plans to object to a new dedicated charging station for electric vehicles in the capital.
Lemac Power has applied to build 12 charging bays with solar panels on South Quay.
But the local authority's environmental services committee says the site isn't zoned for it, and would go against planning policies about brownfield sites.
The committee voted to lodge an objection to the plans.
