Douglas Council has applied for permission to build a new toilet block next to underground facilities that haven't been used for decades.
The local authority says it wants to put up the new loos next to the underground lavatories on Queen's Promenade.
The sunken loos will be converted into turned into planted gardens as part of the proposals.
In its application, the council says the new block would be coin-operated.
