Douglas Council says it has seen an increase in recycling since its bin collections moved from weekly to fortnightly about 18 months ago.
Chair of the Environmental Services Committee Falk Horning believes that residents have adapted to the change, and as a result fewer complaints have been received.
There have been about 4,000 requests for a garden waste bin - which he hopes is reducing the usage of the Eastern Civic Amenity Site.
Councillor Horning says there won’t be any changes to the waste services arrangement until the government has concluded a review into a new ‘waste strategy’.
