Douglas City Council says it's rejected having a low-noise fireworks display this year.
Councillors had considered the suggestion after it was made last year, but say they'll stick to traditional fireworks following professional advice.
Although the quieter display wouldn't have cost more, the council says its event discourages private displays in residential areas, which can cause problems for residents and pets.
Regeneration and Community Committee chair Natalie Byron-Teare says hosting the November display as usual is the most effective and responsible approach.
