Douglas Council: "Recycled rubbish doesn't go to Energy from Waste Plant"
Douglas Borough Council is reassuring residents that recycled rubbish does not get taken to the Energy from Waste Plant.
Results from a recent survey show that is where Douglas residents think it ends up.
In a post on social media the council describes the notion as "fake news", explaining that the facts are very different.
For example, a spokesman said, glass is sent to Peel, crushed into sand and used for road surfacing while aluminium goes to Cheshire to be made into new cans or even airplanes.
