With effect from 7.00am today (Monday) all of Douglas Borough Council’s public car parks will be changing to barrier-operated systems.
You will now be required to take a ticket upon entry, which you will then need to pay before being able to leave.
The new system will ensure no motorists are getting away with parking longer than their ticket allows.
The pay stations will be located at strategic points close to the pedestrian access routes.
From earlier in the week you can now also purchase pre-payment cards which can be scanned at the barriers.
The new system will apply to the Council’s car parks at Shaw’s Brow, the Bottleneck and Pulrose Road.
