Douglas council says it wants to up security around a block of flats in Willaston which is due to be demolished.
In a planning application, the local authority says it wants to put security fencing around the site on Snaefell Road next door to Willaston Methodist Church.
Council officials say the 2.4-metre fencing is designed to keep people out of the site.
In its application, it says the current temporary fencing has been ineffective and people are still trespassing.
