With the flooding threat diminished for the time being thoughts are moving to the impact the current Arctic storm hammering the US could have on the Island.
The polar vortex has left much of Northern America snow covered and with freezing temperatures of minus 35 Celsius.
When the vortex breaks down there are concerns the Arctic weather fronts could head for European continents.
Met Office forecaster Dave Hulse says its impact here is currently too early to predict with any certainty:
