Could Cav Win World Breakthrough Sports Star Award Today?

Mark Cavendish will find out later this afternoon if he won a prestigious sporting award.

The Laxey cyclist has been nominated for World Breakthrough of the Year at the Laureus Sports Award, which are dubbed the Sports Oscars.

They recognise the achievements of teams and individuals who symbolised the very best in sport last year.

He's up against the likes of Jenson Button and Tom Daley.

Hollywood film star Kevin Spacey is to host Awards this afternoon in Abu Dhabi.
