What could prove to be the start of a major housing development in Jurby got the go ahead in Tynwald last week.
The funding was granted to develop four bungalows on the former army campsite, it’s £755,000 price tag raised some eye brows in Tynwald.
It’s worked out that each property will cost £180,000 each, a sum described as astronomical by MHK Graham Cregeen.
Social Care Minister Martyn Quayle has said a large chunk of the money will be going on infrastructure, services and landscaping, which will pave the way for future housing development in the area.
