The research, carried out by the Royal National Institute of Blind People, reveals that two thirds of those surveyed say it's had a negative impact on their mental health, with 38% saying their physical health has suffered as a consequence.
Peter Marshall from local charity Sight Matters says they have seen similar issues with their service users on Island.
He said he is seeing similar issues from their service users, with blind people generally earning a lower wage, they have felt the cost of living crisis acutely, but where possible he says Sight Matters are there to help.
