Firefighters have now removed a cordon following an incident with a gas cylinder yesterday.
Two fire appliances from Ramsey were called to the Point of Ayre quarry at 8am on Monday.
A acetylene cylinder had set on fire and the road around the area was closed as a result.
A 200 metre cordon and cooling jets were set up to allow the cylinder to cool.
The Fire and Rescue Service says the incident is now under control.
