Royal Navy bomb disposal experts have detonated a suspected World War Two device in Ramsey.
They visited the Island this morning to carry out the controlled explosion on the beach after the mortar was found yesterday.
Construction workers discovered it at the IRIS project site on Mooragh Promenade.
Experts moved it to the beach where it was dug into the sand and 'heavily sand-bagged' before being safely blown up.
