An MHK is calling for major changes to the way MLC’s are elected into their position.
Liberal Vannin Leader Peter Karran says it’s time the members were publicly elected as currently they fulfill a crucial parliamentary role, without public mandate and scrutiny.
He’s described the present system as one step removed from democracy.
