The government has issued a reminder that relatives and carers of anyone unable to give consent for their Covid booster jab needs a 'best interest' declaration form from their GP.
As consent for someone's vaccination can't be given by another person, people are asked not to attempt to sign in for a relative on the day of vaccination.
The process of receiving a booster vaccine for those who can't consent themselves, is the same as the initial vaccination rollout, with a GP assessing the individual to decide if it's in their best interest to have the jab.
Health and Social Care Minister, David Ashford, says it's a straightforward process which requires a call to the GP, and you should act now to ensure the consent is in place before the vaccination appointment.
