Should the Steam Packet Company have to offer compassionate rates to people who have to unexpectedly travel off-Island at short notice?
A Tynwald select committee report into the company and its regulation has published its final report.
In it, it says it welcomes the company's September announcement it would introduce special offer fares for last-minute bookings but says provision for compassionate rates should also be included.
The committee says dynamic pricing means last-minute bookings command a much higher price, which it describes as 'severely disadvantageous and predatory' for residents who have to go to the UK at short notice.
