Companies have health and safety cases adjourned

Two companies charged with a health and safety breach following the death of a construction worker have had their cases adjourned.

Tuke and Bell Limited and JCK Limited have each been charged with failing to discharge duty on or about May 1st 2013.

55-year-old Gareth Sowden suffered fatal crush injuries after being trapped under a shipping container whilst working at a sewerage treatment facility in Kirk Michael.

Advocates for the companies said their clients would be able to enter pleas at the next court appearance - the cases have been adjourned until May 19th.
