Major incidents such as last weeks Laxey floods show how we must 'stand together as a community'.
That's according to Chief Minister, Howard Quayle MHK, as the government announced Laxey residents affected by the floods last Tuesday would be eligible for a £500 payment towards immediate recovery costs.
At an emergency meeting on Thursday night, residents claimed warning signs were ignored by departments and that little had been done to prevent the incident.
Along with the additional financial support, Mr Quayle also announced earlier this week an independent review will be carried out to look into the circumstances of the flooding.
Those who own properties in Laxey which were impacted can make a claim for the payment immediately by visiting the dedicated Laxey Flooding page on the government website.
