Redundancies could be unavoidable if an alternative solution
isn’t found soon says Community, Culture and Leisure Minister David Cretney.
He was asked in the House of Keys today about letters that
were hand delivered to members of staff yesterday relating to their employment.
The letters were sent to 34 staff saying there is to be a
period of informal consultation designed to allow employer and employees to
work together to identify alternative solutions to job cuts.
Minister Cretney identified that if alternative measures
cannot be found then 11 posts could go in the first phase of the next financial
year, with the possibility of another 11 at a later date.
