Road users in Garff are being asked to 'share the space' when travelling through the sheading.
Garff Commissioners has launched a new campaign to support Safe Cycling IOM's call to introduce a minimum passing distance of 1.5 meters when a driver passes a cyclist, walker or motorcyclist.
They say it's important to make sure people feel safe while using the roads as government encourages people to lead a more active lifestyle.
Deputy clerk Martin Royle says although they're aware a minority of cyclists or pedestrians behave in an 'irritating' way they are more vulnerable and caution needs to be used to avoid 'catastrophic results':
