Onchan commissioners have turned down a tenant's request to have four dogs in their local authority home.
At its last meeting, members heard the unnamed person had been given permission for two dogs but wanted to help a friend who couldn't look after their pets.
However, the meeting was told having four dogs would breach the local authority's policy on pet numbers.
The board voted unanimously to refuse the request.
