More funds can be found to cover a new multi-million pound community complex in Braddan should the work go over-budget.
Chairman of the Commissioners Andrew Jessopp says preparations have been put in place for a potential increase in costs.
Work on the project at Strang Corner Field started last week and is expected to take 18 months to complete.
Mr Jessopp said outside pressures have already seen the price of the facility pushed up:
