Castletown Commissioner Carol Quine has resigned from the board and stepped down as chairman.
The local authority confirmed on social media earlier this week Miss Quine has resigned with immediate effect.
According to the Clerk to Castletown Town Commissioners, a Press Release was received from Miss Quine, stating her intention to step down as both Chairman and Commissioner.
Board members say 'after consideration', they accepted this as a formal notice of resignation, which therefore took effect immediately.
The remaining members will meet on 1 November to elect a new chairman, while plans to elect a new commissioner will be announced in due course.
