A Garff commissioner has declared his intention to stand in this year's general election.
Jamie Smith - who hopes to represent Garff says the 'time is right 'for him to step up and become a 'full time representative' for residents.
He believes there's a number of big local issues to tackle including a sewerage solution for Laxey Bay, flood protection works and preserving 'unique communities' in Onchan, Lonan and Maughold.
