Ray Harmer took to Facebook at the weekend to announce the Peel Sewage Plant had finally cleared all its planning hurdles.
He described the project, on Glenfaba Road, as 'great news for Peel'.
Local residents had been concerned about water quality for years because untreated sewage is currently dumped in the sea through an outfall near the beach.
