A Peel commissioner says the way is now clear for the Sunset city to get its own sewage treatment plant, after the final planning details were approved.
Ray Harmer took to Facebook at the weekend to announce the Peel Sewage Plant had finally cleared all its planning hurdles.
He described the project, on Glenfaba Road, as 'great news for Peel'.
Local residents had been concerned about water quality for years because untreated sewage is currently dumped in the sea through an outfall near the beach.
