A member of the Onchan Commissioners wants to reintroduce the Neighbourhood Watch Scheme.
Following a discussion at their meeting last year it was suggested it would be a good idea to roll the project out in the community.
However, the initiative is operated by the Department of Home Affairs - the council could support the programme but not provide any funding or manpower.
Chairman Robin Turton has suggested the council writes to the DoHA to suggest the scheme's reintroduction:
