A man’s appeared in court to deny stealing a trailer worth £9,000 and fraudulently trying to sell another.
Alexander Kennedy of Main Road in Colby represented himself when he appeared before Deputy High Bailiff James Brooks.
The 47 year old pleaded not guilty to theft on March 24 and fraud by false representation on March 26.
Prosecutor Hazel Carroon told the hearing Kennedy is alleged to have taken the catering trailer from Niarbyl to run during this year’s TT festival.
However, it belonged to a charity boss and days later Mr Kennedy is said to have sold another trailer he didn’t own for £900.
After he made representations about the media, Mr Brooks told him he wouldn’t exclude journalists from the hearing and couldn’t control what material was published.
Mr Kennedy was bailed in the sum of £500 to appear in court again on June 30.
