Coastguards came to the rescue of a lamb this morning.
This morning the Station Officer from Castletown Coastguard received a call to investigate a report of a lamb in distress in the cliff in Santon Gorge.
On scene assessment was carried out and the lamb was clearly in distress.
It was assessed that recovery of the lamb was required to stop the public carrying out their own rescue.
Castletown team was paged and rope rescue was carried out.
The lamb was secured with its own line by the rope technician and recovered to the top of the cliff using Z Drag method.
The lamb was then placed safely back within its flock.
