Lifeboat teams were on hand this weekend to come to the aid of a sea swimmer who got into difficulty off the south of the Island.
Port St Mary RNLI was paged just before 6.20pm on Saturday (April 24) by Belfast Coastguard who'd received a distress call from the swimmer who'd got into difficulties in Castletown Bay.
Meanwhile a vessel moored in the bay which had also picked up the distress call lifted their anchor and went out to search for the casualty who was found and then taken aboard.
Lifeboats from Port St Mary then headed to the vessel and after establishing the casualty was safe and well, the swimmer was then transferred to the Spirit of Leciester lifeboat, taken back to Castletown Harbour and handed over to Isle of Man Coastguard.
