The Diana Princess of Wales Hospice Care at Home Trust has launched its third Raad ny Foillan Challenge, aiming to reach a fundraising target of £20,000 by August 2021.
The challenge breaks up the 100-mile route over 15 legs, with each leg taking place on the last Sunday of each month up until its conclusion in August next year.
The first leg starts at 10am on Sunday, June 28, and takes in the Raad ny Foillan section from starting Niarbyl through to Peel, a distance of approximately six miles - Patron of the Trust, Lieutenant Governor Sir Richard Gozney, will be at the start to welcome walkers.
There is no obligation to complete every leg of the challenge.
Anyone interested in taking part in the walk this Sunday (28th) can email hospiceathomeiom@gmail.com or check the Trust’s Facebook page.
Chair of the trust, Jennifer Houghton, says: "Walking the Raad ny Foillan is on many people’s bucket list.
"With ‘staycationers’ seeking to explore the best that the Isle of Man has to offer over the next few months our format of walking the whole route over monthly legs provides a fantastic opportunity to complete the Challenge, and at the same time raise much-needed funds to provide end of life care at home for Manx residents."
A suggested minimum donation of £10 per adult walker, per leg, is advised and this can be made via the dedicated JustGiving page which is available here.
